To strengthen the offer of shelters and their international projection, it is essential that the shelters, located in unique places, are as respectful as possible with the environment.
- Situation study
Analysis of the situation regarding water and wastewater treatment in Pyrenean refuges, as well as the most appropriate and sustainable existing systems to apply in this type of isolated high mountain facilities.
- Pilot experiences in shelters
Various actions and material investments to be carried out in the shelters in application of the results obtained in the situation study, including the implementation of various dry toilets and other experimental actions.A return of experiences is planned to be formalized and shared among project participants and other shelter managers.
- Sensitization
Awareness actions on the use and management of water, and the environmental value of shelters.
